Joe Rubalcaba is a Los Angeles born and based, multi-hyphenate filmmaker and content creator. He is namely known as a director and producer but he also regularly acts as an editor, camera operator, cinematographer and writer.
After his start in music videos, as half of the directing team, Artificial Army, (The Mars Volta, Flogging Molly, Blackalicious, etc.) he went on to direct and produce several independent feature films, including a psychedelic concert film for DC rockers Dead Meadow, a rock n’ roll mockumentary, “Wreckless Epic” starring Jerry Trainor and Esteban Powell and “Almost Sharkproof”, an action-comedy starring Jon Lovitz, Joan Severance and Dennis Haskins. He also produced and directed for HDNet's hit comedy, "Svetlana", starring Iris Bahr, Randall Park and Wendi McLendon-Covey.
Since, he has earned tens of millions of views in the new media and television space for a myriad of outlets including, but not limited to; Nerdist Industries, Lions Gate Entertainment, Legendary Entertainment, The Jim Henson Co., The CW, Nickelodeon, Verizon and Ticketmaster.
He also develops reality television and reality competition shows for such companies as Mission Control Media, Core Media Group, Hazy Mils Entertainment and GSN.
